A hungry wolf disguises himself in a sheepskin to sneak past the shepherd's watch and prey on the flock — but the disguise ends up costing him dearly.
A Wolf found great difficulty in getting at the sheep, for the shepherd and his dogs watched them closely.
एक भेड़िये को भेड़ों तक पहुँचना बहुत मुश्किल लगता था, क्योंकि चरवाहा और उसके कुत्ते उन पर बारीकी से नज़र रखते थे।
But one day the Wolf found the skin of a sheep that had been thrown aside. He put it on over his own coat, and strolled down among the flock.
पर एक दिन भेड़िये को एक भेड़ की खाल मिली जिसे कहीं फेंक दिया गया था। उसने उसे अपने ही चमड़े के ऊपर पहन लिया, और झुंड के बीच टहलते हुए चला गया।
A lamb soon began to follow the Wolf, thinking it was its mother. So, leading the lamb a little apart from the others, the Wolf made a fine meal of her.

For some time he went on deceiving the sheep and enjoying good meals.

But one evening the shepherd, wanting a bit of mutton for his supper, happened to pick the very animal in whose skin the Wolf was hiding. And that was the end of the Wolf.
