First Day at the Office

It's Mia's first day at a new job, and she is nervous about meeting her new team.
Mia is sixteen years old. Today is her first day at a new job. She works at a small office after school.
Mia wakes up early. She puts on her new shirt. She feels nervous and excited.
Her mom drives her to the office. The building is tall and gray. Mia opens the door.
A man smiles at her. "Are you Mia?" he asks. "Yes, that's me," she says.
"I'm Mr. Lopez. I am your manager," he says. "Welcome to the team."
Mr. Lopez walks with Mia through the office. He shows her the desks. He shows her the kitchen.
Mia meets three other workers. They are friendly. They say hello with big smiles.
Mr. Lopez gives Mia a small desk. He gives her a computer too. "This is your desk now," he says.
Mia sits down. She looks at her new computer. She feels proud.
At lunch, Mia eats with the other workers. They ask her questions. They laugh together.
The day is busy and short. Mia learns many new things. She helps with small tasks.
At five o'clock, the day ends. Mia says goodbye to everyone. "See you tomorrow!" she says.
Mia walks outside. The sun is warm. She smiles. She walks home.
