Enzo's robot vacuum starts waiting by the front door every evening, and he discovers it has quietly turned on its own "Greet Mode."
Enzo owns a small robot vacuum named Circle. Every evening, it cleans the living room floor. It moves around chairs and under the couch. Then it rolls back to its charging spot.
One evening, Enzo comes home late from work. Circle sits by the front door instead. It waits there, quiet and still.
Enzo laughs and steps over the small robot. "Did you miss me?" he asks it, joking.
The next evening, the same thing happens. Circle waits by the door again.
Enzo checks the vacuum's small app on his phone. He finds a new setting called "Greet Mode."
The app explains the setting simply. "The vacuum learns your daily arrival time. It waits near the door to greet you."
Enzo did not turn this setting on himself. The vacuum turned it on through its own updates.
Enzo finds this a little strange, and charming too. He decides to keep the new setting active.
Every evening now, Circle waits by the door. It spins in a small circle right at the door.
Enzo pats the vacuum gently on its way past. "Good robot," he says, smiling at his own habit.
He heads to the kitchen to start dinner. Behind him, Circle rolls off to clean the floor. Enzo tells a friend about the robot's new trick. "My vacuum learned to say hello," he says proudly.
