Elias brought home a new puppy last week. The puppy was small, brown, and very curious. Elias loved him right away.
The puppy explored every room in the house. He sniffed the corners and chewed on toys. He was always full of energy.
One morning, Elias left for work in a hurry. He forgot to put his shoes away. He left them right by the door.
He came home later that day. He found a big mess waiting. One shoe was chewed at the toe. The puppy looked up at him happily.
Elias sighed and picked up the shoe. "This is my fault, not yours," he said. He knew puppies chew things sometimes.
He looked around the house for other problems. Luckily, nothing else was damaged today. He gave the puppy a gentle pat.
The next day, Elias bought some chew toys. He put his shoes in the closet now. He gave the puppy a soft toy instead.
The puppy chewed his new toy happily. He left Elias's shoes alone after that. Elias smiled and scratched the puppy's ears.
